Femto Engineering is starting the year with admission to the list of accredited companies of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The company is allowed, as the first and only one in the Benelux countries and France, to provide calculations for the certification of roll cages without the otherwise mandatory destructive test.
The FIA provides certification of so-called Roll-Over Protection Systems (ROPS) in vehicles according to specific regulations. The recognition of Femto Engineering makes it possible to support a growing number of companies, in motorsport and defence among others, both nationally and internationally. Already a good number of calculations have been carried out for this to date, and due to the admission, the first projects are already planned for summer 2023 as well.
Over the past 25 years, Femto Engineering has carried out many impact and crash simulations for various vehicle types. These simulations enable digital assessment of structures in advance. Using the finite element method (FEM), Femto engineers calculate how strong a structure is. They specialize in creating a „digital twin“ to perform such calculations.
Femto Engineering partnered with the KNAF to join the FIA’s ranks of European companies.
